Contest Rules

Organizers of the IGDA Unreal Engine 3 Worldwide Level Design Contest are free to judge entries and award prizes separately from the $1 Million Intel Make Something Unreal Contest.

Contest Period

The IGDA Unreal Engine 3 Worldwide Level Design Contest begins at 12:00:01 a.m. U.S. Eastern Daylight Time ("US EDT") on July 1, 2009 and ends at 11:59:59 p.m. U.S. Eastern Standard Time ("US EST") on October 5, 2009 ("Contest Period").

All Submissions must be available for free public download at the time of submission and playable with the retail version of Unreal Tournament 3 patched to the latest officially released update.

Submissions that do not comply with the End User Agreement and these Official Rules will be disqualified.

Submissions may not promote third party products or services, or incorporate third party intellectual property, including, but not limited to copyright protected software, images, characters, logos, names and trademarks.


Final Judging Round

For each Category, 1 Finalists may be selected at the end of Phase 4 to compete for the Grand Prize in the Final Round. The number of finalists per Category is not predetermined. Finalists shall be notified using the information contained in the entry form and the Finalist Submissions will be featured on this site.

Finalists will have until October 5, 2009 11:59:59 p.m. U.S. EST to make updates, improvements and modifications they choose to their existing Submission. On or about October 24, 2009, a panel of qualified judges will review and score the Finalist Submissions using the criteria listed in these Official Rules. The Submission receiving the highest overall score across categories will be selected as Grand Prize winner ("Selected Contestant"). The Selected Contestant's Submission will be highlighted on the official contest web site. Selected Contestant will be notified on October 24, 2009.

Final Judging for the IGDA Florida Chapter's will be the main event at the Infinite Bits Conventions, Miami's first and South Florida's largest Video Game Convention the weekend of October 23-25. http://www.infinitebitsconvention.com/
